Happy Friday! It’s been a busy week but I wanted to get a post up before the weekend. We had a major heat wave on Thanksgiving, but a few days later it cooled down a lot so we made a trip to the Christmas Tree Farm. Which is actually a parking lot at a local community college – shhhh.

In the summer my style stays pretty consistently casual when I don’t have an event that requires dressing up. I’ve been living in denim cutoffs and easy tees like this one from Sincerely Jules. I have a bit of a flamingo obsession so it fits in nicely. Last week we spent a windy evening at the beach and my kimono was the perfect accessory because it really carried the breeze.

Mixed prints and layers always make an outfit more interesting and unique. I love creating a look by pulling pieces out of my closet with similar colors but different prints. I built my look around two pieces I’ve had for awhile, this Rebecca Taylor top and jacket from Nordstrom and ended up look perfect for spring/summer.

It’s been a looooong time since we’ve done a men’s fashion post, but here we are! Jeff was loving his outfit before we went out to a party over the weekend so we snapped some quick pics in the yard. This is a pretty typical summer outfit for him… he has top-siders in almost every color of the rainbow.

I’ve always loved distressed denim; from the infamous abercrombie cutoff mini skirt I rocked in high school and college, to a well worn (or bought to look like it) pair of hole-y jeans, it’s one trend that always finds it’s way back in our closets. This summer I’m all about the cutoffs (as seen here, here, here and here). But as simple as they are finding the perfect pair can be a bit challenging. For a few months now, I’ve been begging Jeff to let me take his pictures for a men’s fashion post. He has always resisted. A few days ago he was feeling really confident in his “fashion risk” (his words not mine), of mismatched stripes and put the camera into my hands before striking a series of ANTM worthy poses. Although my camera work isn’t nearly as good as his and he didn’t give me the go-ahead to post these, I just had to share this outfit.
