I can’t believe Christmas is just days away and 2017 will be over in about a week! Where did this year go?
In college and the years that followed my friends and I would go all out for New Years Eve. We’d dress up and usually spend the night celebrating with take out and plenty of champagne at someone’s house, it was much easier than dealing with crowded restaurants, clubs and cabs (the days before uber).
With Christmas only two days away, I know I’m not alone when I say that 2014 was the quickest year of my life! I’ve already started thinking about New Years Eve and while I don’t have plans yet I’m trying to decide on a dress. I automatically think sparkle when it comes to NYE but there are really so many other fun options. What about you, do you have NYE plans? What are you wearing?!

When I’m not looking for something specific I seem to always find a new favorite piece, this time it was a fab rose gold dress. This is my new go-to dress of the season and think it’s perfect for holiday parties.I have so many coming up and will be wearing it like I am here with my cape and other ways, like with black tights. In the past I’ve waited until last minute to find a dress and have had such a hard time because the good ones always sell out fast.
A cape is the perfect thing to throw over a cocktail dress. It keeps you warm while instantly adding a “cool” vibe and is so on-trend. I previously styled it casually with distressed denim and office appropriate with a jumpsuit and will be showing a couple more ways to wear it in the next few weeks.

I used to be pretty anti-little black dress, writing them off as boring and predictable. However, recently I’ve come around and realized they’ll always be a closet staple. And since we’re bound to have a stock pile they may as well be different, right? I’ve narrowed down the most unique LBD’s (or maxis, rompers, etc) you can turn to for your next bachelorette party, date night, or whenever!

This dress is a holiday favorite that has been in my closet for a long time. The splashes of red combined with the a-line cut and tulle make it feel like the perfect party dress. I brought it and some of my other favorites out for the first holiday party of the season and felt so festive!
