Today I want to talk about nail polish! Unless something weird is going on my nails are always painted and I like doing them myself most of the time. It’s oddly relaxing and who has time to sit in a nail salon every week? I have this rack on the wall in my bathroom to store them. It keeps them all organized and adds a pop of color to the room.
A few months ago six of my mother-in-law’s friends threw me a baby shower – you may remember this post about what I wore. I know how much work goes into hosting a shower and I wanted to put something together to thank them for all of it. I came up with this shower themed basket and had fun buying all the pink shower and bath things. I also lucked out – this shower was a few weeks before Valentine’s Day and I was able to find candy with pink packaging. Best time of the year to have a girl!
I’ve been all about the color pink lately… with a baby girl due soon and Valentine’s Day on the horizon I just can’t help it! Valentine’s Day is such a fun little day. Even if you don’t celebrate it in a romantic way, it’s still nice to buy a little something for yourself or a friend. Years ago I went to a fun anti-Valentine’s Day party at a bar in LA with a group of girlfriends and it was honestly one of my favorite memories of the holiday. That and back in elementary school when we’d get dressed up, pass out Valentine’s and have parties in our classrooms.
Now that I’m old and married I wanted to share a fun little gift guide I put together.
I also wanted to share some gift ideas for the guys…
And of course, I can’t forget the babies. Here are my favorites…
Hope you’re having a great week – thanks for stopping by!
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I’m looking ahead to pretty blush shades. They’re perfect to wear this time of year and will still work in the spring too! I recently got a blush bag and love how surprisingly versatile the color is. This jacket looks so cozy, I want it in my closet to ride out the rest of winter. The rest of my favorites are below…
Happy Monday – thanks for reading!
The last time I was at the Madonna Inn I was on a road trip with my family and I was 13. All these years later it’s just as kitschy as I remembered. It’s such a fun spot that probably hasn’t changed much since it opened in the 50’s. We only stopped for breakfast, but I’d love to go back for a longer stay. All of the rooms are decorated with their own theme and you can actually choose which one you want to stay in. You can see them here. Also, if you’re there for more than one night they don’t mind if you switch rooms so you can experience more!
I was worried I’d be cold but decided to wear this lavender dress (It’s $31 and the quality is surprisingly good for the price) and the weather turned out to be perfect once again. I’m not the biggest fan of purple but lately the lighter shades are growing on me.
Hope you have a great day – thanks for reading!
