Over the years my hair has taken quite a beating. I used to bleach the crap out of it in high school and college. For some reason I thought since I was a “natural” blonde I needed to be platinum. Ugh. Then came the days of frying my naturally stick straight hair with a hair straightener… I’m still not sure why I thought it needed to be even straighter than it air dries.
I always thought a baby would be harder to wash than a dog… boy was I wrong! This little lady is the wiggliest fighter when it comes to bath time. We have to physically get in the tub with her or she won’t cooperate. It’s always a party, let me tell you.
I wanted to call this post “How To Wash Your Hair As Little As Possible.”
I try to only wash my hair a few times a week. I have a lot of stick straight hair that’s thick in the back and fine in the front and over the years I’ve learned less is more when it comes to shampoo. However, I’m no stranger to dry shampoo. I’ve used so many through the years and have mastered a few tips and tricks along the way. For instance, if you spray some on your scalp where you’re prone to oil when it’s freshly washed, it will actually help keep the grease away.
Recently I had the opportunity to try two new (to me) dry shampoos I wanted to share with you in case you’re int he market for a new one.
I’d never tried a clear dry shampoo and was surprised by how much I liked it. I have light hair and can get away with blending in a more powdery dry shampoo, but I didn’t need to with this one. This one was a little sticky at first but dried and kept my hair oil free.
Loved! This one might be my new favorite. It brought my hair back to life during a really busy week when I was trying to maximize some curling iron waves. This one was a little more powdery but was easy to blend.
The perfect companion to dry shampoo is a good hair brush. My hair gets super tangly when it’s wet and at the nape of my neck towards the end of the day. I love the Wet Brushbecause I’m able to work through the tangles without any breakage.

Hope you have a great weekend – thanks for stopping by!
Last month my two best friends, mom, future mother-in-law and a couple other friends all helped through a bridal shower for me. It was my first shower and every detail was perfect. They all know me so well and got so creative with the pineapple and flamingo theme. I wish I’d taken more pictures but I was too mesmerized by all their touches.
The pineapple looking appetizer up there? It was a delicious goat cheese dip garnished with pecans and a real pineapple top. The cake tasted as good as it looked, which is saying a lot because I’m not really a cake person. Seriously… my wedding cake has a lot to live up to.
I’ve always loved wearing a crisp white dress all year round but now that I’m engaged I have even more reason to. This one with it’s feminine lace details is the perfect dress for all these fun occasions like the engagement party, engagement pictures, showers or even the rehearsal dinner. I plan on adding a few more white dresses and other pieces to my collection as I get further in the planning process.
