This time of year I always love bright colored pieces. However this skirt has sat in my closet for over a year… so much time that it’s moved from J. Crew to J. Crew Factory, if that tells you anything. I’m not sure why I hadn’t worn it before now, it’s such an easy piece. You know… one I can dress up or down; that’s long enough to wear to work but short enough to still be fun.

Speaking of fun, I love how the crochet on this top is wide enough to let flashes of skin peek though. But since you can’t show it all this bra is my savior. I might be late to the bandeau bra game but trust me this one is the perfect “barely there” piece for layering under any tops you need a little more coverage.

I don’t know if I’m alone in this but when it comes to swimwear, a cute beach bag is the thing I forget to buy. I seem to spend all my money on bikinis, coverups, sandals and sunglasses and forget the bag. I’ve been hauling along an old ratty one for a few seasons without really thinking anything of it. But recently I’ve been seeing SO MANY cute ones and I’m like, where have I been? So, to prep for my upcoming trips I’m determined to find the best one possible.

When I’m on vacation I love wearing sundresses and rompers more than anything. First of all, they’re easier to pack and they take up less room because you don’t need multiple pieces for an outfit. But I also love their versatility. Take this one from Cheeky Peach, it was  as perfect to wear to brunch as it was over my swimsuit as a coverup for a day at the pool. And let’s talk about embellishments… tassels are my favorite and I can never pass them up.

When we were in Palm Springs last weekend we made a stop at The Parker to walk around and take some pictures. It’s always been a special place to us and it’s where Jeff popped the question last summer. It was our first time back and so fun to re-visit.

I’m very much looking forward to this weekend. I have so many wedding related tasks I need to catch up on and I know we’ll be able to squeeze in some fun as well. Hope yours is just as nice.

I looked in my closet recently and was a little stunned by how many neutral pieces I’d collected. Over the last year or so I’ve gravitated towards nude, white, blush and tan colors the most. This was quite a shift from how I dressed in the past. I used to be all about color. In fact, in college my motto was “black is for boring people.” So needless to say I was a little disappointed in myself for the state of my current wardrobe.

Now I know I’m older now and my tastes have changed, but the second I put on this dress I felt happy. There’s something so fresh and playful about color and wearing it is always so much fun. I’m now determined to add more colorful pieces to my closet this spring and this dress will be worn to death from now until September.

Wasn’t it just Friday afternoon like a second ago? How is it seriously Monday morning already?! I feel like each weekend goes by at warp speed – I really wish there was a way to make them slow down. I’m hoping this week goes by just as fast. In the meantime here’s a little roundup of things I’d rather be wearing this Monday.

For the record, I can’t really complain… the weather here has been off the charts. I’m talking in the 90’s. It’s been fun to pulling out some summer pieces to wear for the first time this year.
