Oh hey rosé! To get things feeling Friday festive around here I wanted to put together a little post on my favorite topic… rosé! Up until a few years ago I turned my nose up to “pink wine.” I thought it was a dated housewife drink. And then, a few summers ago, I found myself on a private jet to Paso Robles (you know, just a normal Tuesday) and the rosé was flowing! I had an amazing time and I was instantly hooked.
I’m really loving all the wine colored shades for fall like this burgundy dress. I paired it with my over-the-knee-boots and fun new tassel bag for a look that I think would be perfect for Thanksgiving. Plus this dress has a looser fit so you won’t feel constricted after all the eating and drinking that comes along with the day. The best part about wearing OTK boots with a dress is only a sliver of your legs show so it’s almost like wearing pants. If you live somewhere a little colder, you could always add a pair of tights for extra warmth.
Burgundy, wine, maroon, oxblood, bordeaux… some of the many names for this rich color that seems to make an appearance every year about this time. This year I’m all about it and can’t wait to wear it in the coming months. I mentioned yesterday that I love pairing blush with it for a fun juxtaposition. I’ve found so many great pieces in varrying shades. I love them all and wanted to share.
Hello Thursday! I’m counting down the minutes til the weekend because I’m so excited about our fun plans. Jeff and I are attending the Newport Beach Food & Wine Festival in our own backyard. I get really excited when fun events happen in Orange County, because most of the time they’re in LA and that’s the last place I want to drive on a weekend. 🙂
Because sharing is caring, I want you all to join me. You can use my code ASH50 for $50 off General Admission Daytime Festival tickets Saturday and Sunday! If you can’t make it be sure can follow along for a sneak peek at all the fun (I’m @ashnfashn on instagram, twitter and snapchat).
I’m so excited that I pulled a few pieces I’m dying to wear. That’s normal, right?
Hope you have a great Thursday – thanks for stopping by!
After a long day I’m always down for a little at home happy hour. There’s something so relaxing about opening a bottle of wine and snacking on a cheese plate when you know you’re in for the night. So when I heard today was National Malbec Day naturally I jumped at the chance to participate.
This Malbec is from my newest obsession, Speak Wines. If I’m being honest, when it comes to wine, I do judge a book by it’s cover. I mean, who wants a boring label bottle of wine?! Not this girl. Speak has the cutest labels that are so fun for a hostess gift or a fun night in with your girlfriends.
Happy Friday – hope you open a bottle of Malbec to celebrate!
Those uncomfortable moments when someone gives you a gift but you don’t have one for them. Here’s my guide on handling the awkwardness and the four gifts you should keep stashed in case you’re hit with one of them.
First, is this is someone you’re going to see again this holiday season? Simple, thank them and bring the gift next time you see them. There’s no need to tell them you have something for them, it sounds forced and like the lie that it is.
If it’s from someone you’re not going to see again this holiday season you can send them a little gift.
1. Nail polish. To jazz it up attach a fun tag saying “For your Mistle-Toes”
2. A bold picture frame. If you have a photo of you with the person go ahead and stick it in, if not don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with giving an empty frame.
