Another striped dress, I just can’t help it! I’ve always loved stripes, but I think they’re even better with the bump. I wore this around La Jolla last weekend when it finally warmed up a bit. It got me really excited for spring, hopefully it will come sooner than later.
Happy Friday! Hope you have fun plans to look forward to this weekend, we’re supposed to get more record setting rain here today so naturally I’m flashing back to sunnier days last weekend. Jeff and I celebrated a relaxing little babymoon about an hour down the coast at The Hyatt Regency La Jolla. It was the perfect travel distance for me at over 8 months pregnant – no long car rides, no flights, no complaints. We were so spoiled all weekend, I want to go back and do it all over again!
I didn’t think I was wearing enough blue lately so I packed this dress to wear over the weekend in La Jolla. I love the royal blue shade and will be wearing it more this spring and summer – it’s not maternity! I’m happy that the off-the-shoulder trend stuck around this year and can’t wait to wear some of my favorite OTS tops and dresses again.
I think blue is a color that’s universally flattering, it really looks great on everyone! There are so many shades that work year round, but I love softer powder blue hues for spring.
I’ve had this velvet cami sitting in my closet for way too long without wearing it so the other morning I decided to get creative and layer it over this lace top. I love the way their textures play off each other! I added my favorite cozy cardigan for warmth and called it a day.
Spring is right around the corner, well hopefully sooner than later. I’m already thinking ahead to breezy pieces and light layers. One of my favorite things to carry from season to season is a cardigan. I wear them all year round – everywhere from over my pj’s at home to over my clothes in the office. They are the best transitional piece and I love adding them to my closet.
