Last week on instagram I shared a few pieces we have in Crosby’s room to keep it organized and I got a lot of questions so I thought it could be an interesting blog post. It all started when we moved Crosby into her new room a couple of months before Wilder was born. We wanted the nursery to be the room closest to ours. It was a relatively seamless transition and we were glad to have it done and have her comfortable with her new room before Wilder was born.

Since we were so busy setting up the nursery, Crosby’s new room kind of took a backseat. Obviously we had the major pieces of furniture like her crib and changing table/dresser but we were lacking in organizational pieces to hold her books and toys.

For months her room felt unfinished and always messy because her books were stacked off to the side. A few weeks ago I finally decided to do something about it.

I ordered this shelf/bin to house her books. I loved that it’s low since we didn’t have a lot of avialable wall space in the room. It’s perfect for her books. We have some of her toys in baskets on top which also really helps.

Some other options I considered and really liked… this toy chest if you have a lot of toys you want stored away, another good shelf with cubbies, love this book shelf bench hybrid, a cute ladder shelf that would work well in a kid’s room, a corner cabinet, a lower ladder shelf, a three bin organizer and this storage box.

Another shelf I love for her room is this one. I have it in her closet to hold her shoes. It has several cubbies which are easy for her to pick her shoes out and put them away. It really helps to keep her closet organized.

rug, crib/toddler bed, dresser, knobs, similar mobile, circular shelf, similar basket
