Wedding Invitations

I’m exciting to start sharing pieces of our wedding with you all! First up I wanted to tackle stationary; invitations, place cards, etc. They’re such an important part of the big day and there are countless options. It can really be overwhelming.

Minted is one of my favorite resources if you’re looking for templates where you can still add personal touches. I ordered our escort and place cards from them and loved them. I scoured the site for wedding invites and loved several of the templates but ended up going a different way when it came time to make the decision.

I knew I wanted invitations that were totally original and fit the tone of our wedding. I set out to find a stationary designer I could collaborate with and design our invitations. After talking with several designers I finally found Maile Paperie and went from there.

Our wedding colors were blush, gray, white, and shades of gold. I also wanted to incorporate some of my favorite things like peonies, pampas grass, pineapples and flamingos. We came up with the invitation, pineapple envelope liner, rsvp card, menu and rehearsal dinner invitation.

White Lace Midi Dress

I’m so obsessed with this white lace midi dress. I only wish I had it 6 months ago so I could have worn it to one of my bridal showers! Seriously, if you’re a bride-to-be, buy this dress for a shower or rehearsal dinner… or anything really! Just don’t wear it to someone else’s bridal shower #rude.

I actually love the dress so much I got it in red too.

We spent most of our weekend house hunting in some extreme heat. So it was fun to get dressed up to end it. I have another short work week and am heading out of town again for labor day weekend so I’m trying to stay on top of everything. Hope you have a great (maybe short, too) week!

Top 21 from F21

In my early 20’s I joked that I should own stock in Forever 21. At the time I was fresh out of college working my first real job and didn’t have a lot to spend on clothes. I never understood why people were so overwhelmed by the store, I always seemed to find the best pieces.

Flash forward several years… I’m still a huge fan of F21 but now I get stressed out in the store. I do a lot of online browsing, (for research ;)) then go into the store without seeing what I loved online. I definitely prefer to shop certain stores from the comforts of my home. But this can still be completely overwhelming when stores have a ton of inventory.

I decided to weed through and pick out my top 21 favorites. Happy shopping!

All of these pieces will work now and seamlessly transition into fall as well! I’ve been loving all things black and white and neutral and this collection totally reflects that. I’ve already filled my cart with this clutch and this vest.

What are your strategies for tackling F21?! I’d love to hear!

Insta Roundup

Happy Thursday! I’m gearing up for two extra long weekends to close out the (official) summer season. But, who am I kidding, I will be celebrating summer until Thanksgiving and I’m not mad about it. I’m super excited to have this long weekend to get things done I’ve been neglecting around the house. We’ve been traveling almost every other weekend and the chores have piled up! We’ve also begun house hunting… which is interesting to say the least.

I glanced at my instagram he other day and realized I had a few shots that didn’t make the blog I wanted to share. I’ve been loving all things colorful and bright this summer, if you can’t tell by my rainbow of pictures.

TGIT! Is that a thing?! Hope you have a great one!

Wednesday Want: Lace Up Flats

It’s safe to say we already know what the shoe of the fall season will be, the pointed toe lace up flats. They have been everywhere lately and aren’t going away any time soon. I first spotted a blush pair from M. Gemi, unfortunately they’re selling out so fast that I keep missing them. Luckily there are so many pairs that are just as amazing, I just bought this red pair and am thinking I need a leopard pair too. Which is your favorite?

Denim on Denim Summer

Chambray shirts are my life rafts. Anytime I’m in a wardrobe jam and don’t know what to wear I throw one on and feel instantly cool. There’s something so effortless yet still polished about them. I have a few different washes in my closet, but this one has been my long time favorite. It fits true to size (I’m wearing a 0 for reference) and is just so comfortable. I may be guilty of sleeping in it once or twice.

On another note, how are we almost through August? I feel like summer just started and now everywhere I look I’m seeing fall transitional pieces. I’m not quite ready for that yet. Not to mention where I live it will be HOT until November.  So strap in for my endless summer wardrobe. I may throw on a plaid shirt, denim jacket or booties here and there, but I’m not about to be sweating in seasonally inappropriate clothing for the sake of blog photos. 😉
