Holiday Gift Guide: Hostess

Now that we’ve covered what you’ll be wearing to holiday parties this year, it’s time to move on to another gift guide. This guide is for all the generous people in your world throwing the parties this time of year.

Gift Guide: For the Hostess

The hostess is often under appreciated but they definitely should not be forgotten. Instead of picking up a bottle of wine or flowers when you’re on the way to their party, give them a gift they will actually use… since they must love to entertain. If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, in my opinion you can never go wrong with a cheese board, bar ware or a yummy smelling candle.

#TOMSforTarget Launch

I love a good Target collaboration and have been patiently waiting for the launch of the #TOMSforTarget line and guess what? It’s finally here! I’ve already put a dent in my holiday shopping, but there are so many good things from this line I’ll be picking up.

If you’re not familiar with TOMS they are an amazing company that is all about giving back. And that’s just what this collab is about. Now, in the spirit of the Holiday Season, for every item you buy, they’re giving shoes, a blanket or meals to those in need. As if you needed more reason to shop, right?

The collection has everything from clothing to knickknacks so be sure to check it out.

I can never pass up a good candle. I constantly have them burning in my house, especially during the holiday season. It’s such a no-brainer gift, who doesn’t love a candle?

It wouldn’t be a TOMS collaboration without their signature shoes. These are so perfect for little ones who don’t know how to tie their own shoelaces yet. Their moms will also thank you!

I love giving jewelry as gifts to my girl friends. This fun set would be the perfect addition to any arm party. I love the variations here.

Thank you to Target for sponsoring this post!

Toms For Target: One-for-One. For All. Starting November 16th, for every Target+Toms limited edition gift you buy, we’re (Target) giving shoes, a blanket or meals to those in need. #TomsForTarget

Keeping my skin healthy and #ForeverYoung has always been really important to me, but especially now since I’m planning a wedding and want it in its best shape. I usually stick to the same products, but lately I’ve been switching it up and even added a new favorite into the mix which is Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream.

Olay is a  company I’ve trusted and turned to since I was actually forever young (aka high school) and have recently started using it again. I really love how this product moisturizes my skin and helps to get rid of any dark spots I’ve picked up over the years.

I thought I’d share a couple more quick ways I recharge,  refresh and stay “forever young” in my daily routine.

Keeping my closet clean and organized has been so helpful for me. If I can see it, I will wear it. Bring on the fall cleaning!

Like I mentioned, I’m planning my wedding. For inspiration I regularly check out new wedding magazines and of course Pinterest.

The one constant in my routine as of late has been Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream and I don’t see that stopping any time soon.

Olay is a worldwide leader in skin care and has been trusted by women for over 60 years, maintaining its founding philosophy: to maintain a deep understanding of women’s changing needs and to combine products that fit their needs with the latest advances in skin care technology. Regenerist was created along those lines to address women’s anti-aging needs, and millions of women have tried it and loved it, making Regenerist the #1 anti-aging moisturizer.*

Boho Lace Dress

I know a white lace dress doesn’t exactly scream fall, but I couldn’t resist. Plus it’s pretty much an endless summer here and I can get away leaving the house without having to layer up… this week, anyway. You could always throw some tights under the dress to make it more fall/winter appropriate.

It must be because I’m planning my wedding, but in the last few months my white dress collection has doubled! I had to throw on a flower crown with this one, it just felt so bohemian. But if that feels a little too Coachella for you, a messy top knot would also be fun.

Holiday Party Outfit Guide

I know we’re still a little over a week away from Thanksgiving, but the next month rest of the year is going to go by in the blink of an eye. I’m trying to keep track of everything and get all my shopping done (gift guide #1 and #2). Aside from gifts another thing to think about is what to wear to all the parties that fill up our weekends between now and New Years. Here’s my new little guide with three easy outfits that will cover all your bases.

Holiday Outfits for Every Party

Office: dress // necklace // purse //booties

Family: sweater // necklace // pants // bag // flats

Friends: romper // necklace // earrings // clutch // heels

When it comes to the office party I like to be festive but still conservative. A long sleeve dress with a fun embellishment is perfect for that. Swap your stilettos for a comfortable but still trendy pair of booties and you’re set.

Family parties are all about comfort. A festive sweater and pants are perfect for relaxing and overeating. Sequin joggers are my pick for this look, I have a pair I love wearing during the holidays (seen here and here).

When you’re celebrating with your friends you can go anyway you choose. My fav look is a long sleeve romper in a bold color. This red one is perfect for the season especially when you add gold accessories.

Style the Cape: Party Dress

When I’m not looking for something specific I seem to always find a new favorite piece, this time it was a fab rose gold dress. This is my new go-to dress of the season and think it’s perfect for holiday parties.I have so many coming up and will be wearing it like I am here with my cape and other ways, like with black tights.  In the past I’ve waited until last minute to find a dress and have had such a hard time because the good ones always sell out fast.

A cape is the perfect thing to throw over a cocktail dress. It keeps you warm while instantly adding a “cool” vibe and is so on-trend. I previously styled it casually with distressed denim and office appropriate with a jumpsuit and will be showing a couple more ways to wear it in the next few weeks.

Holiday Gift Guide: Beauty Lover

I don’t know if you’ve been near a mall lately, but holiday madness has already taken over and made them unshopable. I don’t want to deal with the parking, the crowds and the lines! I’ve resolved to do all of my shopping online this year… it’s much better on my health. Last week I shared my first holiday gift guide for all the homebody’s in your life and now I’m glamming it up. The best part? Everything is under $100!

Holiday Gift Guide: Beauty Lover

This guide is for the product junkie. We all know one; their hair is always perfect, they mastered the cat eye before anyone else and they always have 16 lipsticks in their purse. Instead of resulting to getting them a Sephora gift card, surprise them with some of their favorite things… before they are their favorite things.

A Mini Skirt for All Seasons

I’m all about breaking the norm; eating pizza for breakfast, dressing up on casual Fridays or, like I’m doing here, wearing pastels in the fall. I feel like once September hits #pumpkinspicedeverything takes over and we gravitate towards darker colors. I’m totally fine with that, but needed a break from the basic. I first put on a black skirt before I tried this one. The blush hues in the top caught my eye and once I put the skirt on it seemed like a perfect match. Without being too matchy matchy.

A light pink mini skirt is way more versatile than you’d think. I wore it back in the spring with a white tank and chambray, now with a blouse and would even work in the winter with tights and a coat.

Rose Gold Leather Jacket Hunt

I’ve been searching for the perfect leather jacket for too long now. In my head it’s black leather with rose gold hardware like one Club Monaco put out last year. Unfortunately it was out of my price range and has sold out and I haven’t seen another like it since! There are still lots of options, but I’m having a really hard time making up my mind. Below are my favorites I’ve found while scouring the internet for the one with rose gold hardware… which may as well be a unicorn at this point.

White Midi Dress

I originally bought this dress from ASOS for our engagement pictures, thinking it would look soft, wispy and pretty on the beach. Unfortunately when I showed Jeff he said it looked like something from “Little House on the Prairie.” Normally I wouldn’t care what he thought and just wear it anyway, but since they’re our engagement pictures I decided to listen to him and find a different dress. I don’t want to look back a few years from now and, god forbid, agree with him. However, I was determined to show him this wasn’t something a Quaker (his words, not mine) would wear and put my own spin on it. He ended up liking it a little more, I think.

When we woke up Sunday morning we realized we were out of coffee filters – the horror! We ventured out for breakfast and found this random old diner in our neighborhood that we’d never been to. We ended up loving it’s vintage vibes; the tufted booths and crackled mirrors made us feel like we were transported back to it’s grand opening in 1947. And, the icing on the cake was that my outfit fit in perfectly. So not a Pilgrim… or whatever.
