Crushin’ On Copper

Over the last year I’ve become completely infatuated with all things copper. This is obviously carried over from my love of rose gold jewelry. However, my home has turned into a copper cave, (evidence below) but I’m not complaining. Recently I went a little crazy in the Threshold section of Target and snapped up all the copper bar ware I could carry.

These puppies are finally online and are too good to pass up (cocktail shaker, pitcherice bucket and tongsserving tray).Use the code HOME10 until 11/8 for 10% off purchases of $50 or more.

I’ve also found more copper housewares below.

90′s Vibes

fall skirt 4

I received a box of Tart Collections goodies a few weeks ago and this skirt was one of the first things that caught my eye. I always love a neutral skirt, but paired with a chambray shirt tied around my waist added a 90′s cool vibe. I played up the neutral with my other favorite, leopard and was ready for a night out. Side note: super bummed these Sole Society booties sold out last year but I found a really similar Dolce Vita pair that I just might need.

Fall in LA

fall shorts 1

The whole “fall” thing is kind of a lost concept in LA. By September our brains think it’s supposed to start cooling down, but mother nature is still heating up. Most years true fall (below 78 degrees) starts around Thanksgiving, however mornings and evenings cool off earlier than that. My solution is to layer, layer, layer! This duster cardigan is a godsend. It’s just as easy to pair with shorts as it is with a mini dress or denim for that “not quite fall” morning chill. I’m searching for more to add to my wardrobe.

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Pics

I feel like we’re finally making some strides with planning. I’m in the process of interviewing florists and we have our photographer locked in… naturally my brain is focused on engagement pictures. I’ve been brainstorming locations, outfits, etc for our shoot next month and thought I’d share my vision. Below are the two outfits I’m seriously considering, the first is a classic look and the second is more boho beach.

Did you take engagement pictures? What are your tips? I’d love to hear!

Wrap Jumpsuit

black jumpsuit 1

If you’ve spent any amount of time on my blog this past summer, you’re well aware of my romper obsession. Naturally that obsession carried over to jumpsuits as well, however I’ve had a really hard time finding one that fit me correctly. Kinda like the problem I have in maxi dresses (they swallow me), long jumpsuits do as well. This Rebecca Minkoff onesie was just too good to pass up. Not only does it fit but it’s the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. I’m not kidding, I could sleep in it! Now I’m on a mission to find more.

Columbus Day Sales

Remember in school Columbus Day was so fun because it was the first “holiday” weekend of the school year? Since I work in the entertainment industry, I’m not lucky enough to get a long weekend, but the one tradition that seemed to carry over are the amazing sales. I’ve highlighted my two favorites below from Piperlime and J. Crew as well as more discount codes at the bottom of the post. Happy shopping!

Plaid Hatter

fall look 1

In the fall I always have a thing for plaid flannel shirts and when you pair that with a felt panama hat you have a winning combo. Speaking of, I’ve been searching for what’s felt like ages for a hat like this that actually fits my head and have finally found it. If you’re like me with a head on the smaller side check out this one.

Wedding Wednesday: Dress Shopping Tips

weddinggownMy wedding is just a little over eight months away and I have started dress shopping! Even for someone like me who is extremely decisive and has a lot of opinions, it’s such an overwhelming experience. I made some mistakes on my first shopping trip but have picked up a few tips and thought I’d share.

  • Do you hair. This may sound silly but I went in to my first appointment with dirty air-dried locks and felt kinda blah. My hair is stick straight and you can bet I won’t be wearing it in its natural state at the wedding, the very least I could have done is spend an extra 20 minutes with my curling iron adding some waves.
  • Makeup. I’m not saying you need to be fully glammed out, but just like I said with hair you’ll want to look your best. Maybe wear a pretty lipstick or spend a few extra minutes with your mascara wand or plucking your eyebrows… anything!
  • Wear or bring the proper under garments. Luckily I knew this going in and came prepared with seamless underwear and my favorite backless strapless bra.
  • Bring a pair of heels the same height you think you’ll wear at your wedding. Trying on gown barefoot is not ideal and doesn’t give you the best impression. If you’re wearing flats you probably don’t need to worry about this but it never helps to have a pretty pair of shoes to compliment your dress.

I hope these tips help point you in the right direction before your first appointment. I have another appointment today and will be much more prepared this time. Happy shopping!

White Cape

white cape 1

I can’t even tell you how into capes I am right now.  I mean… have you seen the Burberry cape taking street style by storm?! I went with a more Gwenth Paltrow/Lupita Nyong’o approach with this structured one, but I’m dying for a monogrammed blanket cape.

What I love about the blazer cape hybrid is they can go with anything. Get ready to see this one on repeat and stay tuned for more.

One Shade of Gray

sand tropez

When it comes to nail polish, I love changing it up. But for the last few weeks I’ve been stuck on a new neutral shade, Essie “Sand Tropez.” This soft gray is perfect for every season but especially fall. There’s nothing better than a muted mani right now, if you ask me.
