I know I’m not alone when I say I’m wishing away winter. I’m so ready for beach days, Palm Springs trips and sandals… just to name a few. I’ve been pulling my favorite things online and noticed their shared tropical theme. I guess it’s more obvious than ever I have an obsession with pineapples, palm trees and flamingos. I’m basically ready for a retirement home in Boca. Here’s my wish list.
If you’re up to your elbows in snow you’re probably hating me right about now. So sorry! I’ve gotten an early start with swimwear this year and I’m so excited about this new monokini. Since I wore one here I’ve been a little hooked on the style. I haven’t abandoned my beloved bikinis but these are so fun to wear. I feel like I’ve been searching for the perfect white coverup for years. This one is so great and will go with any bathing suit – definitely packing it on my upcoming trips.
I’m also happy to share my friends at Coral Reef Swim are offering 20% off with the coupon code ASHNFASHN20 through March 7th. Their suits are so colorful and cute they’ll make you immediately want to book a beach vacation.
It’s absolutely no secret I have a thing for capes. I’ve worn them multiple times (here, here, here, here, etc). But two things I don’t have – a caped dress or sweater. When I saw them on Nasty Gal I gasped. I’m totally late to this party as they’ve been on the site for months and wish I saw earlier. Would have been great for award season. Oh well! Here are my favorites.
Good basics are the foundation of fun outfits. I like to start simple (this is my all time favorite t-shirt – I’ve had it for years and it’s held up) and add fun touches. This outfit actually happened by accident and I’m not mad at it. I mentioned here my obsession with body chains and finally got one to try out. Nasty Gal is my go-to for trends like this – they’re super affordable and have the best selection.
If you’re unsure about the trend wear it with a normal outfit, like I’m doing here. It’s a safe way to take it for a test drive. I plan on stepping it up and wearing it this weekend with a cocktail dress for my best friend’s Birthday.
Now I know I just posted about some new makeup products a few days ago but this week I’m doubling up on the beauty posts! Bare Minerals is a line I’ve been using for years – I can’t even remember how long it’s been, but I remember loving their powder in high school. And I’m 30 so it’s been well over 10 years.
Recently I got to try their new complexion rescue and I am hooked! I usually use a BB Cream or a tinted moisturizer and the coverage on this is similar. I prefer a dewy natural look and that’s what you get with this.
When I get ready for work or on a weekend day I keep my look pretty natural – like I mentioned, tinted moisturizer, bronzer, lipgloss and mascara is all I need. If I want to amp it up for a night out or an event I love bronze eye shadows. These pallets are my new go-tos. I think with blue eyes I’ve always done brown/gold tone shadows but they look pretty on every eye color!
I know I must sound like a broken record, but since I’m getting married in a few months I’ve been hoarding white dresses like nobody’s business. The weird thing is I still don’t feel like I have enough.
“I have an addiction, sir!”
Anyway… this one from LuLu’s is a recent favorite and I think it will be perfect for one of my bridal showers. I always love a dress that moves (ie. that I can twirl in) and this one does just that. It was a bit breezy when we shot this look and I love how the wind carried the dress. When I wear white I like to jazz up my look with accessories. Pretty pumps and a fun clutch always do the trick to take it to the next level. This is a look I’ll definitely be repeating at one of my many wedding events this spring.
