Whale Dress

This whale dress is always a favorite in the summer. I’ve had a it for a few years now but still love the cheeky print. It’s sadly no longer available but I found a similar option below. It’s been so hot and humid I’ve been reaching for the same summer staples over and over again. These glasses and this bag are sure getting a lot of play but what can I say, I love them!

What You Can Wear Now From Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale

For the last week I’ve been bombarded with Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts and really wasn’t going to do one. Not because they don’t always have great deals but because it’s so hard for me to justify a fall/winter purchase when all I want to wear is a bikini and cutoffs. Over the weekend I popped into Nordstrom for this bra (side note, if you don’t already have this you need it) and these candles. While I was there I  found several things that work into my wardrobe all year round.

There really are so many great pieces. Shop the sale until August 3rd.

Little White Dress

There’s really nothing more summery than a little white dress. This one from Rae Francis was a favorite because of it’s unique details. I don’t usually go for drop-waist, but I love the feminine flair it adds here. Others favorite are the open back (showcased in these pictures) and the sheer panels on the front.

These sandals are another summer fav. I’ve found myself pairing them with everything from sundresses, to cutoffs to skinny jeans. I could run laps in them, they’re that comfortable.

Zig Zag Dress

This dress is so fun and easy to style. I’ve worn it to work with a chambray shirt tied over it, but it’s perfect for occasions you need to be a little bit dress while feeling comfortable. And it’s so light weight, it’s absolutely perfect for summer!

Sunflower Lace Romper

Rompers have been a fixture in my summer wardrobe and I don’t see that stopping any time soon. I love the sunflower lace pattern on this one by Motel Rocks. I wore it to my best friend’s Birthday party over the weekend and it was the perfect alternative to a little black dress. The best part about the one piece is that you can dress it up for nighttime one day and then wear it to the beach with flip flops the next.

Matching Separates

Coordinating tops and short sets are really having a moment this summer and there are just so many cute options! Missguided has you covered with everything from pineapples to crochet, to neon and I want every set.

Cutout Shoulders

I got this top less than two weeks ago and have already worn it a few times. It’s one of those great summer pieces that goes with everything – while keeping you cool and looking chic. I love the off the shoulder cutouts and the best part is it’s so light and airy… perfect for this hot summer weather we’re experiencing.

Summer Staples

Now that summer is in full swing I’ve found myself reaching for the same staple pieces over and over (kimonos, large framed sunglasses, cross body bags, gladiator sandals, straw hats and denim cutoffs). Since it’s so hot I stick to easy low maintenance items that are fun to mix and match.  As much as I love dresses and cute one piece getups, I love the creativity that comes with styling separates to create a custom look. I’ve rounded up my favorites below.

I’d also like to point out that these Free People sunglasses are a dead ringer for Celine and are a fraction of the price at $18.

What are your summer staples? I’d love to know!

Desert Details

Yesterday I shared my first outfit and first set of pictures from our stay at The Parker and today I have the rest of them. My scalloped crochet detailed top went perfectly with the mid-century desert decor. It was pretty hot, as expected, in the desert so I kept my looks simple and fuss free. This Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag was a Birthday gift that’s really the perfect addition to my closet this summer. It literally goes with everything and is just so practical.

Romp at The Parker

Hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July and going back to work today wasn’t too much of a struggle… I know it can be! We celebrated my Birthday in Palm Springs last weekend, first at a rented house with my best friends, then Jeff and I headed over to Le Parker Meridien for some R&R. The Parker is, hands down, my favorite hotel in Palm Springs. Whenever I’m there I don’t want to even leave the property because the grounds are just so breathtaking. We tried to capture some of it’s beauty and I’ve broken this up into two posts, but you really need to go there to experience it in person.

I’m wearing this super comfortable romper from Windsor. The tribal print just screamed vacation to me.
