Shopbop’s big sale started yesterday and I always head into the sale with the same motive and that’s to snag any of the higher end pieces I’ve been eying. It’s a buy more, save more sale so the more you buy, the more you save. I like to invest in staple items like high end denim, swimsuits, sunglasses, a nice dress, etc. You get free shipping and free returns so if you don’t love something in person you can easily send it back. Today I want to share items I own and love as well as a few things I’m eying in the sale.
It’s that time of year… the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Whether you love shopping it or hate hearing about it, there are always great deals included in the sale. But it can be extremely overwhelming combing through the thousands of items listed. Today I wanted to post about all my tried and true items that are all on sale and likely to sell out fast. Most of these items I’ve had and loved for years and stand behind 100%.
Before I get into them, here’s how the sale is working this year…
The sale opens to the public August 19, if you have a Nordstrom card you can shop earlier depending on your card status:
Fashion:
Spanx leggings – mark my words, these will go fast! They’re a major wardrobe staple for me. When it’s colder I wear them at least once a week. They’re high wasted and really flattering. Available in regular and petite (I wear the petite).
Free People jeans (also pictured above) – I’ve loved and worn these jeans for years now. This photo is from 2017! I think this darker wash is perfect for fall and winter. They’re also available in black and run true to size.
Ray-Ban Hexigonal sunglasses – Jeff got me a pair of these sunglasses for Mother’s Day a few years ago and loved them so much he got them for himself too. They’re the perfect everyday sunglasses… completely unisex too.
Brixton hat – this is the perfect wide brim, structured straw hat. Its comes in a few colors and sizes (key for someone like me who has a small head). Great price point!
Gorjana crescent necklace– I’ve had this necklace for at least 4 years and continue to wear it. When I want a long necklace this is the one I always reach for. It comes in both silver and gold.
Pajama Set – I have this set in black and wore it in the hospital when I gave birth to both kids. It’s incredibly soft and well made. It’s lasted me several seasons.
Baby:
Uppababy Vista – hands down the best stroller out there and really the only stroller you will ever need. This one comes with the bassinet for the sleepy newborn days when you want to stroll around your neighborhood. I’ve had this stroller since before Crosby was born and continue to use it daily with both kids. It truly grows with your family and could not be easier to use/collapse.
Thule Jogging Stroller – another longtime favorite. We’ve had this stroller since Crosby was a baby, it’s great for jogs (Jeff’s used it more for that than I have), hikes and can even handle being pushed on the sand. It also comes in a double – I wish we had that one!
Nuna Rava convertible car seat – the convertible car seat we’ve used with Crosby for 2 years and recently started using with Wilder. It’s extremely safe and comfortable.
Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair – we researched high chairs front to back while we were pregnant with Crosby and this one was the clear winner. I’ve used it for 3 years now and continue to be impressed. It’s really durable and easy to clean – plus it can grow with your child and become a chair for the toddler days when they don’t need a high chair anymore.
Beauty:
t3 curling iron – what I use to get my weekly waves. t3 makes the best hair tools and this iron is worth every penny.
La Mer set – La Mer is a huge beauty splurge and their products basically never go on sale. I love this set to try out some of my favorite products.
Tula set– it’s no secret I’m a big fan of Tula products. This set has a bunch of my favorites; eye balm, cleanser, exfoliator, primer and is such a great deal.
Laura Mercier eye shadow sticks – I received these in a press package at the beginning of the year and was a little intimidated by them at first. But then I used them and fell in love. They’re really subtle but buildable and are my favorite way to add a little shimmer to my eyes without much effort.
It’s so hard to believe Memorial Day weekend is here! Between the haze of the past few months and it being a little earlier this year, it really snuck up on me. I always think of this weekend as the unofficial start of summer, but our weather has been so great lately it kind of feels like it already began. There are always amazing sales this weekend, it’s a really good time to use the sales on bigger ticket items like furniture/outdoor. I’m rounding up all the best sales from my favorite retailers below.
Shopbop is having their spring sale now through March 8th. It’s one of my favorite times to stock up on items that rarely (if ever) go on sale. And the more you spend, the more you save.
My two current favorite pairs of high-waisted jeans are both included in the sale. The Agolde Jamie jeans (left) and Levi’s 501 Skinny (right). Both pairs are lighter wash, slightly distressed and can be worn tons of different ways.
We’re going out Friday night to celebrate a friends birthday and I’m debating between two dresses in my closet. I’ve been wanting to wear both! The first is this sequin fringe dress from BB Dakota (pictured above), I love how unique it is. The second is this vegan leather dress from Rebecca Taylor, it’s such a great LBD and I know I’ll continue to wear it and love it for years.
Swim:
I’ve always been obsessed with swimwear and have more bikinis than I could ever wear. I love buying new ones every year and this neon green smocked bikini (top, bottoms) is my latest that I cannot wait to wear. I’m going to Tulum in a couple months and will definitely be bringing it. I also just got this leopard top and matching shorts that’s a really cute alternative to a coverup. Plus my favorite pom pom coverup is included in the sale and comes in 3 different colors.
*these sunglasses have been a favorite of mine for the past 5 years.
Odds & Ends:
I wear these spanx faux leather leggings a few times a week and love them so much. They’re incredibly flattering and can even be dressed up.
Hope your weekend was as relaxing and overindulgent as mine. Yesterday Jeff made me and Crosby Belgian waffles with coconuts and chocolate chips and a banana syrup, if that tells you anything. It’s honestly a miracle my pants will button. For Cyber Monday I want to share deals on some of my favorite items, hint my Uppababy stroller is on sale!
Did that get your attention? You can get $100 in rewards when you buy this stroller, or anything $300 or over on right now at Buy Buy Baby. These strollers almost never go on sale so it’s a great time to buy one… or another big ticket baby item on your list.
Aerie has all sweatshirts and leggings 50% off. I have this sweatshirt and couldn’t love it more. It’s a slightly oversized fit and so comfy.
Old Navy is also 50% off everything. One of my favorite places to shop for babies and toddlers.
GAP is also 50% off everything. Another one of my go-to’s for the kids.
Freshly Picked is still 30% off everything and 50% off if you sign up for their membership program (first month is free and you can cancel at any time) with code FPxAshnfashn
Elemis makes some of my absolute favorite skincare items like this cleansing balm, marine cream and oil. Everything is 30% off with code CYBER19
It’s almost 10 pm PST, so happy Black Friday Eve OR Black Friday depending on where you are. I wanted to do a comprehensive roundup of sales I’m interested in to share with you. I definitely don’t plan on going into any physical stores and want to do the bulk of my holiday shopping online all weekend long. There are some really amazing sales that have already started… let’s get to them!
West Elm| 15% off $150+, 20% off $500+, 25% off $1000+, 30% off $3500 with code SAVEMORE
Hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving and got some time with your family. Thank you SO MUCH for the support you’ve shown me the past 7.5 years. Without it I would not have been able to turn this “hobby” into a full time job. I am SO GRATEFUL!
