ashnfashn wedding

Happy Tuesday! Like I mentioned last week I’m excited to share more of our wedding here on the blog. It took me a few months to really go through the pictures (there are so many!) and decide where I wanted to share them. In the end I decided I wanted them here and will be breaking them up into several posts to help show more behind the whole day.

Today I’m going over some of my favorite details; the flowers and special touches. I worked with a florist to come up with the vision which included the ombre petal aisle, bouquets and boutonnieres, chuppah flowers, centerpieces and even floral garlands for my flower girl neices and Macallan (our ring beareress). We went with blush and white flowers to stick with the color pallet I was going for.

When I first met with my florist I told her peonies were my must have flower. Since we got married in June when they’re in season it wasn’t an issue.

Because we had both round and rectangular tables at the reception I wanted a variety of vase sizes to break up the tables. My parents and I collected various smaller vases and then spray painted them shades of gold.

A few days before the wedding my mom and I went on a pineapple shopping spree. We bought and spray painted over 20 pineapples for more ceremony and reception decor. I loved how they lined my ombre aisle and flanked the flowers on the tables.

Since we had so much going on, I wanted to keep the cake fairly simple. We used a vintage topper than Jeff’s grandparents had on an anniversary cake as well as one I bought on etsy because our first dance was “Fly Me to the Moon.”
