Once the calendar hits March I’m pretty much in spring mode. By now I’m sick of all my winter clothes and ready for light and airy pieces to transition into the next few months. At the start of each season I like to put together some wardrobe staples I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. Items that can easily mix and match with each other as well as other great basics.

Tops: Two great tops to start with are a flowy white blouse and striped tee. They’re both great basics that will be worn over and over again.

Dresses: I always look for dresses that can be dressed up or down. In the day time with sandals or sneaker and with heels at night.

Outerwear: If you don’t already have a denim jacket in your closet you need one now. I wear mine all year round but the most in the spring. A cardigan is another must have for layering when it’s a little chilly.

White denim: Such a great staple in the spring. Don’t listen to the old rule about wearing them before Memorial day, they can be anytime so break them out for spring.

Cutoff shorts: Pair so well with that white top – and so many other things! Definitely a staple in my wardrobe.

Shoes: The “it” shoes of the season are wedges and mules. Each of these are practical and versatile for everyday.

Sunglasses: Aviators are a flattering shade that looks good on almost everyone. Love this rose gold color for spring.
