Cozy Fall Sweaters

December 3, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Happy Monday! After today there are only 4 more Monday’s in 2018. How insane is that?! A couple weeks ago I noticed the trees in our neighborhood dropping leaves like crazy. And obviously this is something to get excited about since we live in Orange County and aren’t that used to seeing. Crosby and I put on our coziest sweaters and headed out to play in the leaves. My pink cowl neck sweater from BB Dakota is under $100 and also comes in black. It’s so soft and kind of feels like wearing a bathrobe… not mad at that.

on me: sunglasses, sweater c/o, jeans, booties

on Crosby: sweatshirt, leggings, shoes c/o

Crosby recently went through a growth spurt, a lot of her pants were too short. I got her a few pairs of leggings from Cotton On Kids. Toddler clothing sizing is all over the place, a lot of times the waist is too big, or they’re too short. But she fits perfectly into their size 1 right now. I also got her fuzzy sweatshirt there. And this is the outfit she wore on Thanksgiving. 🙂

Crosby’s not the only one going through a growth spurt… I think my bump has doubled in size the past couple of weeks. I always heard you show faster with your second – I think my bump is as big as it was when I was 7 or 8 months pregnant with Crosby. I’m stocking up all things comfortable to get me through this winter pregnant. Roomy sweaters, joggers, long cardigans, etc. I’m a little scared to see how big I am in April!

Some of my new closet additions… this velvet jumpsuit that I thought would be fun for a holiday party, I went up one size. This soft pullover that’s perfect for everyday. Pretty black blouse for when I want to dress up a bit. The most comfortable leggings that actually aren’t maternity but work perfectly if you’re pregnant and go over the bump. And this sherpa draped jacket that is perfect for the chillier weather we’ve been having.

Hope you have a good week – thank you for reading and following!

Casual Outfit For Thanksgiving Week

November 19, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Happy Thanksgiving week! I cannot believe how quickly this holiday crept up on us this year, but I feel like I’m going to be saying that about every holiday from now on. I put this casual outfit together with post-holiday comfort in mind. It could be something you wear to travel this week, after the big meal Thursday when you want to relax, on black Friday when the last thing you want to do is put on pants with a zipper. Or maybe that’s just me… #pregnancyproblems.

sunglasses, t-shirt c/o, denim jacket, joggers c/o, bag, similar shoes

On Thursday I’ll probably wear jeans and an oversized sweater. I just got this one and it’s super comfy but still really cute and perfect for a family get together. I just checked and it’s actually supposed to be chilly here on Thanksgiving for the first time in I don’t even know how long. The last couple of years it’s been warm, and anything but fall like. Fingers crossed it doesn’t heat up this week.

Here I’m wearing a tshirt and joggers from N Philanthropy, a newer brand I’ve grown to love. They have the best basics that are really comfortable, I keep saying I’m going to be living in them until this baby is born. I love that everything can be dressed up or down…. and clearly not maternity but perfect for a growing bump. But the best part is they live up to their philanthropy and give back. 10% of proceeds go to Children’s Hospital LA, the ASPCA, SPCALA and other local animal charities.

I’ve had a hard time finding joggers that work on petites. A lot of times they’re too baggy and can end up looking too casual (for joggers), I love the way N Philanthropy’s fit. I have a few pairs and they hit me right above the ankle (I’m 5’4) and are a little more fitted. If you’re wanting a more oversized look, you can always size up.

Free People Chunky Cardigan

November 1, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

And just like that it’s November. Don’t blink or it will be 2019. Over the weekend I posted an IG story wearing this outfit and got lots of questions about my chunky cardigan. It’s the Free People Sunday Morning cardigan and I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Sadly, it’s mostly sold out in this light grey color but it’s fully stocked in black here and a few other colors here. I actually spotted this cardi last year in a pretty blush shade, but I didn’t get it before it sold out so I made sure to snap it up when it came back for the sale.

sunglasses, tank c/o, cardigan (more colors here), jeans, shoes, similar bag

on Crosby: jumpsuit, shoes c/o

An outfit like this is perfect for fall in Southern California. It’s chilly in the mornings and evenings and warm in the afternoon. Layers are 100% necessary. I love this tank for layering. It’s from one of my favorite brands and it’s super comfortable for lounging around the house or running around town.

Do you see my little sidekick with her fingers in her mouth? Poor girl is hardcore teething and sometimes that’s the only thing that soothes her. We tried taking these pictures without her but she just wasn’t having it and had to jump in for a few.

She looked super cute in this jumpsuit I found on Amazon. I’ve found so many cute pieces for here there. A lot of times Prime isn’t available so they take a few weeks to come, but they’re worth it! One tip is to always size up because a lot of things run small.

Red Suede Jacket

October 19, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Happy Friday! Ending the week with one last look from Big Bear. I’m pretty sure this is the last outfit to post. It’s been so warm this week that it’s strange to see myself in a jacket and duck boots, but I like variety. This long sleeve striped top from BB Dakota is one of my new favorite additions to my closet. I went with a bolder styling here pairing it with this red suede jacket, but it can be worn so many ways. It’s also just as cute on it’s own with a pair of jeans… I wore it that way here.

I got these boots this past winter, but they seem to be sold out pretty much everywhere. I can only find them in a few sizes here. I did find this pair that’s really similar and they look like they’d be so comfortable for rain or snow or just the cold. I wish I had more of an excuse to wear duck boots, but they’re not so necessary in Orange County.

This week seemed to go by pretty fast but I’m still more than ready for the weekend. We have some exciting things planned that I can’t wait to share…. soon!! 🙂

Blush Faux Fur Jacket

October 15, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Another look from last week in Big Bear! I was so happy to finally have a place to wear this fuzzy faux fur coat from BB Dakota. It came in the mail a few weeks ago and I knew I’d be bringing it on our trip. It’s so cozy and the color is really beautiful. I can’t wait to wear it more this winter.

sunglasses, tshirt, coat c/o, jeans, shoes

BB Dakota is one of my favorite brands for every day and their price points are great too. I’ve been wearing them a lot this fall, from dresses to tops and jackets… they really have a lot to work with.

It was actually chilly and rainy in Orange County most of the weekend. Jeff and I went to an event Saturday night where I wished I had this coat. Unfortunately it was an all white party so the color wouldn’t have worked. I did learn that wearing sandals in the rain isn’t the best idea… I think my feet are still cold. All in all it was a fun night and really unlike anything we’d been to before. You may have seen me post about it on my IG stories.

I’m excited to get back on schedule this week at home. Traveling with a toddler is a lot of fun but a lot of work… and sleep is always a crap shoot. We are planning on taking it easy this week and really getting back to our normal activities… like gym class. 🙂 I’ll probably be wearing my typical momiform, which is basically this outfit minus the faux fur coat. And it’s supposed to warm up to the 80’s so I might even swap my jeans for shorts. Getting real crazy over here. 🙂

Versatile White Top

October 4, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

I’ve always been a sucker for a white top. They’re so versatile and can be worn year round. This one is the Lola top from Cleobella and it feels extra special because it has little bits of metallic woven into it. I can easily see it worn around the holidays with darker denim and boots… and then again in the summer months with shorts and sandals.

sunglasses, similar hat, top c/o, jeans, similar tote, shoes

I went in between with my look here since that’s kind of where we are season-wise… although it did rain drizzle yesterday.

I paired it with my favorite jeans from last year, these fun new metallic sneakers and of course my trusty hat… aka dirty hair fixer. I bought my hat in New York a couple years ago and it continues to be the most worn straw hat I have. They never brought it back, but if they ever do I’ll probably buy two more… that’s how much I love it.

I wore this over the weekend while out and about with Jeff and Crosby and was so glad I was wearing these shoes because I ended up chasing my toddler through an outdoor mall. #momlife

As usual I’m looking forward to the weekend and actually next week! We’re going out of town and will get to be in chillier weather. And by chilly I mean the high is in the 50’s and low’s in the 30’s/20’s… that’s pretty cold for us! I’ve been going through Crosby’s closet to make sure she’s set for the cold and picked her up these boots since she outgrew her pair from last year.

I’ve started a mental list of what to pack for myself and it definitely includes this faux fur jacket in the prettiest blush, this cozy cardigan, this fun long sleeve striped top for layering and this bold moto jacket.
