This week I’m finally going to tackle a project I’ve been procrastinating far too long… cleaning out my closet.

We’re in the thick of June Gloom over here, I don’t think I’ve seen the sun in at least a week. Crosby and I are starting to get a little antsy… home girl wants to wear her newborn size summer clothes before she grows out of them! And do you know how hard it is to find sweaters or jackets to fit a newborn? Impossible! But baby aside, I’m starting to look ahead for new pieces to wear this summer. Plus my Birthday is coming up in a couple weeks 🙂

Well, not quite, but as of tomorrow it will be!

I’m at that in between seasons point where I’m totally sick of all my summer clothes and want to jump ahead to fall even though it’s still hot here. The only way I can justify spending money on new things it’s if I’ll still want to wear them in six months. However, that’s a little tricky right now since I’m not sure what will still fit me then as I’ll be about to pop! I’ve been really gravitating towards tops lately because I feel that’s what I’m lacking wardrobe wise. I’m pulling all my favorites under $100 from Nordstrom and am having a hard time not buying them all… don’t kill me Jeff, I won’t. 🙂

And because it’s out in the open now, I might as well start a wish list for baby too. We actually found out the gender through a blood test last week. I got the call and then surprised Jeff with an outfit in the color #genderroles. We’re just keeping it between a small group right now but I’ll share it in a few weeks. The outfit I surprised him with is actually one below.

Booties have been a staple in my closet for several years now, but every year around this time I start finding new ones I love. A really big trend for booties this year is cutouts, whether it’s on the sides or all over and I can’t get enough. I’m thinking I definitely need to add a cutout pair to my wardrobe as soon as possible.

As I was putting together this wish list I realized there was a common theme… I was picking mostly basic staples. I think that’s a sign that my wardrobe needs an update in that department! Good basics are great when you’re getting ready in a rush… AKA me every morning before work. And I love pieces that are easy to mix and match.

Happy Wednesday! Now that it’s mid-May (side note, how is that even possible?) I’m really thinking ahead to summer. This week my wish list is full of my warm weather favorites. Cheeky beach hats, tassel straw bags and sundresses. I’m also focused on furnishing our backyard. How perfect are these lounge chairs?! But that price tag? No bueno. Off to find some more affordable alternatives!
