cosmetics case, deodorant, castor oil, charcoal, coconut oil, soap
Around the time I got pregnant I started really paying attention to the ingredients in my beauty products. There are so many things you have to be on the lookout for while expecting but aside from that I was eager to take on a more natural approach. Over the past couple of years I’ve found a handful of natural products (and a few hacks) that I actually love and wanted to share.
Natural deodorant – I can’t even begin to tell you how many natural deodorants I tried before I finally discovered this one. I was always disappointed and they never worked. I even had a friend confirm to me that I smelled when I tried one… just keeping it real. Anyway, this one from Native is amazing. Once I started using it I think I stopped sweating… or at least it seemed like it. I never smell and I even convinced Jeff to start using the men’s line.
Charcoal powder teeth whitener – After too much teeth sensitivity from white strips I learned that charcoal is actually an amazing whitener. I use this powder in the mornings and then follow with toothpaste. I’ve been using it since around the holidays and can already tell a difference.
Coconut Oil – There are so many ways you can use coconut oil and it has amazing health benefits as well. Recently I’ve been using it in place of a shaving cream and it’s made my legs feel much smoother and I don’t have any razor burn. My other favorite way to use it is as a deep conditioner on the ends of my hair. I like to rub it in and put my hair in a bun for a few hours before I was it.
Castor Oil – Speaking of hair treatments… castor oil is amazing for accelerating blood circulation in the scalp and increasing hair growth. I found this video to follow and try to do this at least once a month.
Dr. Bronner’s soap – Jeff actually got me hooked on this one. It’s a great natural body wash and it smells amazing too.
Do you have any natural beauty products you swear by? I’m always up to try something new!
