A few weeks back I did a post on Wilder’s current favorites and had a few requests for what Crosby is currently into. She’s three now… almost three and a half and has spent most of the last four months at home. She’s become the best little independent player and has the most active imagination. She’s 100% girl and her number one obsession right now are baby dolls… caring for them and everything that comes with it. She also refuses to wear anything other than a dress which sometimes makes me want to pull my hair out.
I have been planning to do a post on toddler gift ideas for over a month, but life got too busy. Even though Christmas is about a week away, I still wanted to share it. Let’s just call it “last minute” toddler gift ideas… with lots of options to receive your gifts on time.
One of my favorite last minute shopping hacks is to use the “pick up in store” option. Most of my favorite stores offer it, from Target to Nordstrom to Bloomingdales, etc. It makes it so easy to order it online and go right in and pick it up without dealing with finding something in a crowded store.
I’ll start this with some of Crosby’s favorite toys. Melissa & Doug make so many great toddler toys/activities. I love that they’re things they can play with and use their imagination ie. no batteries or music.
- She got this grocery basket set last year and still loves playing with it. (available here and here)
- Same with this cleaning set. Hopefully it will get her to actually want to learn to clean… (available here and here)
- Another one of her favorites is this Vet kit. She loves anything doctor related… this is another cute doctor kit option.
- Love the smoothie making set and ice cream set for play food toys.
- For art I love this art easel as well as this table easel if you’re looking for a more compact option.
- We have these alphabet and number puzzles that I like to bring out on a rainy day or time when we’re playing inside a lot.
- I bring these water wow coloring pads out with us in my diaper bag… they’re mess free and can usually hold her attention for a few minutes.
Other options… some Crosby might even be getting
The cutest stroller for baby dolls.
This Dyson vacuum.
A cute tea cart.
Pretty tea set.
Hope you have a great day – thank you for reading and following!
Crosby just turned two and a half and it might be my favorite age yet. She’s absolutely hilarious, sweet and so busy. She almost never stops unless I have a fun project for her to do. Lately when Wilder takes his morning nap, Crosby and I do something fun together. I needed some new toddler approved crafts to keep her busy so I went on Walmart.com and ordered a few for Next Day delivery.
Next Day delivery is honestly my life saver. I’m constantly ordering diapers and formula for Wilder. Beauty products for me and whatever Crosby is into at the moment. There are over 100,000 items included in Next Day delivery, so it’s really easy to navigate. If you’re on your phone you can easily select NextDay Mode and find all the products ready to shop. But the best part is it’s free with no membership fee! And if you spend $35 or more shipping is free too.
Crosby loves butterflies and I knew she would have fun making this butterfly terrarium. It was the perfect activity for us to do together… she had fun putting the stickers on the wings and planting the butterflies in the sand and seed mix I poured into the jar. I also ordered this rock painting kit but I’m saving it for another day. I liked to have a few crafts stashed away for a rainy day… or just a boring day.
I need to order a few more to stock up! There are so many more crafts and projects that I think would be fun for toddlers and even kids a little older…
Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post.
Now that we have two kids getting out of the house for long periods of time is more intense. We still do it but whenever we can stay home we’re always more relaxed. This summer we’ve been playing in our backyard as much as possible. I wanted to share my favorite outdoor things that make our backyard fun for a toddler.
Double lounger – we call this Crosby’s cabana. It’s seriously the cutest mini thing. We jumped the gun and got it when she was only a couple months old and had to wait until last summer to really use it. Now we’re waiting for next summer for Wilder to join her in it. Linked in beige but I found it in navy like we have here.
Unicorn sprinkler – So I’ll admit, I’m more into this than Crosby. It’s amazing! 6 feet tall and you attach your hose to it to turn it into a sprinkler. I’m sure by next summer she’ll be all about this. I also saw this fun rainbow sprinkler you can run through.
Water table – Crosby was all about our water table last year – it honestly kept her busy for hours. She still loves playing with them at the mommy and me we go to.
Kid’s table – This is from the same brand as our double lounger and equally as cute. We don’t have this but I think it would be adorable if you’re looking for a kid’s table.
WATER SAFETY ** Whenever we’re at a pool/beach/lake we make sure Crosby is wearing this vest. We are usually right next to her but it brings us peace of mind knowing she’s wearing it. Puddle jumper also makes a great one for toddlers.
Crosby is 18 months old today. A year and a half! I was actually just talking with a friend about when you stop saying your baby is X months old and I think it should be around now. For the next few months I’ll try to say she’s 1.5 and then as her Birthday gets closer I can say she’s almost two. Anyway, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about her schedule and what not on social media so I thought I’d put it in a post.
Every day for us is a little different but here’s what a “typical” day looks like:
7:30-8 am – wake up and eat breakfast
Breakfast is usually fruit and cereal or yogurt
8:30-9:30 ish – I put on music and she plays in the living room
9:30 – I get us both ready for the day
10 – we head out on a morning errand or walk. (Once a week the schedule is shifted slightly for her morning gym class.)
11:30 – lunch
Something like mac and cheese, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, etc.
12 – bottle and nap
She still takes 2 bottles a day with toddler formula. This was recommended by our pediatrician because she’s so petite.
2:30ish – snack and read a few books, then independent play time or we head out again
5:30 – dinner
Dinners vary… sometimes she eats what we eat, other times she has leftovers, etc. She’s not the best eater and we’re working on not throwing food. Ugh.
6:30 – playtime, read books
7 – bath
7:30 bottle, brush teeth, bed.
A few weeks ago she was going through a sleep regression/teething/growth spurt was sleeping terribly. She was even trying to climb out of her crib. For now she seems to be back on track and I hope I’m not jinxing it by saying that.
Some products we’re loving:
We are still using Bambo Nature diapers. They’re honestly the best. Rarely leak, comfortable and we love that they’re eco-friendly.
Over the last month we switched to a convertible car seat and went with the Nuna Rava. I was a little worried about how Crosby would take to the transition, but there’s been no problems. Super safe and comfortable seat.
Freshly Picked Moccasins are still my favorite shoes for her. We love the mini-sole collection for when she’s running around at the park or in the back yard. They stay on so well and seem really comfortable.
Hope you have a great weekend – thanks for reading!
This might seem like kind of an odd photo for a post titled “Crosby’s Favorite Things,” but playing in her closet is definitely one of those right now, so this pic seems oddly appropriate. Anyway, at 17 months Crosby is BUSY and anything that will keep her attention for any period of time is a win in my book. I wanted to share some of her current favorites.
Doll stroller: she’ll push this empty, with a doll or stuffed animal riding in it… or load it up with all kinds of toys and push it around.
Shopping cart: similar to the stroller, she loves pushing this around too.
Stuffed animals: nothing revolutionary here but she’s started getting into stuffed animals. She sleeps with a really soft hippo in her crib and has a few other she loves to carry around.
Connecting toys: I’m not sure what she likes more, playing with these or emptying/filling the bucket they came in. Either way, they keep her occupied for a few minutes so they’re a win in my book.
Stackable cups/buckets: she loves to stack them and carry them around individually… and will sometimes bring them in the bath.
Bath toys… in and out of the bath: last month Crosby went through a hating the bath phase, but that seems to have passed… at least this week. She loves this mermaid, rubber duckies and these letters and numbers.
Water table: when it’s not too hot we love playing in the back yard. I always put this under an umbrella and she will stand at it splashing and playing with boats and toys for a few minutes.
My first purse: this was a shower gift and she’s now all about it. Loves to carry it around, especially when pushing her shopping cart. It’s so cute!
Let me know if you have anything to add to the list. We love trying new things!
