I’ve been so lucky and have had a pretty easy pregnancy so far. No first trimester morning sickness or anything other than crazy fatigue and hunger, but it’s still been an adjustment. I was prepared for all the diet modifications and lists of foods and drinks that were off-limits, what I wasn’t prepared for was all the beauty products you can’t use. Obviously anything you put on your skin is absorbed into your blood stream, and you don’t want those things to harm baby. Luckily I’ve found (and already had a few) great pregnancy approved products I wanted to share.

  1. Stretch mark prevention oils. No one wants stretch marks, and as much as you hear they’re hereditary and there’s nothing you can do about them, you still want to try your best to prevent any from appearing. I think our best bet is keeping the skin hydrated as much as possible. I’ve been using a combination of this Belli Elasticity Oil, Bio Oil and Palmers Tummy Butter. I use an oil in the morning and after a shower and the tummy butter before bed.
  2. So many skin care products have acids that aren’t pregnancy safe. Tula has been one of my favorites all year and is completely safe to use during pregnancy. I’ve been using the face wash and moisturizer religiously along with this serum from Pixi.
  3. I actually haven’t read this book yet but I’ve heard so many great things about it. It’s about parenting like the French, for parents who want to raise bright, well-mannered children, while still maintaining full adult lives. And this dry shampoo is a new find that’s helping me extend the time between washes even longer.

So while I’m not using sunless tanner and haven’t highlighted my hair since May, there’s still a lot of good products I can use! Also, I know highlighting your hair is perfectly fine through pregnancy, I just didn’t want to do it while I was in my first trimester but plan on getting my hair done soon!
